Brains can recover from alcoholic damage
Via digg:
Findings published today in the online edition of the journal Brain, used sophisticated scanning technology and computer software to measure how brain volume, form and function changed over six to seven weeks of abstinence from alcohol in 15 alcohol dependent patients (ten men, five women).
Of course, ideally your brain wouldn't go getting itself damaged by alcohol to begin with, so from one perspective, the best your damaged brain is going to do is recover to where it was when it got started. Hopefully things will work out better for it the second time around.
